When you’re following a low FODMAP or SIBO-Biphasic protocol, there aren’t a whole lot of fruits and sweet things to include. After some tweaking and testing though, I’ve come up with these divine little balls of fudge goodness! You would have no idea that they’re completely sugar free and get the tick from the FODMAP family as well as SIBO biphasic!
Recipe Type: GF, DF, RSF, V, Paleo
Serves ~12 balls
Time 5 min
Ingredients:
- pulp from 1 batch of Low FODMAP Macadamia milk (1 cup) – or 1 Cup ground macadamia nuts
- 1/3 C hemp protein powder
- 1/4 C desiccated coconut
- (optional) 1/3 t stevia leaf powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
- 1/4 C (30g) 100% dark chocolate (I like either Noosa Chocolate Factory 100% or Changing Pure Habits Cacao Melts), chopped into small pieces.
- 1/4 C unhulled tahini
- 2 T melted coconut oil
Method:
- In a mixing bowl combine the dry ingredients, including the chocolate pieces.
- Add wet ingredients to the dry mix and combine with a wooden spoon or with your hands till really well combined.
- Give the mixture a good few squeezes/kneeds to make sure everything is combined as it should. Adjust for dryness if necessary.
- Break off pieces of the dough and form into balls around the size of a 20c piece.
- Store choc chip fudge balls in the fridge in an air-tight container to keep them firm.

Is hemp protein powder allowed on the sibo bi phasic diet?
Hi Jess, hemp protein powder isn’t officially ‘allowed’ or ‘not allowed’ on the Sibo Biphasic diet, however it (like hemp seeds) is low-fodmap and in many people proves to be a very benign and low-reactive food so many people will allow it occasionally on a SIBO protocol. Like anything, I wouldn’t go having it for every meal but once in a while is fine.
